. . . you've got to face what I'm about to say as something you have to go through, when you put yourself before other artists.

Call it "blatant honesty", "scathing critique", "tough love", . . . whatever you want, ... but it's my first impression of the art at the link you provided.

First, the good news: I appreciated the drawings more than the paintings.

Except for the painting entitled The Ideation of...., the other paintings are crap.

Of the drawings presented, I most appreciated Illustrations and the untitled work with two figures sitting on some thingie, one of whom seems to be smoking (or playing?) a pipe.

Just realize that I call my own stuff "crap" too, at some times more than others, because really that's all it is sometimes.

You've got to be very scrutinizing of your own final creations. You've got to compare your creations with other artists, and really ask yourself if you can live with them when you see them sitting side-by-side other artists work that you like. You have to do this fanatically, getting past that oh-it's-mine-I-made-it phase. When that little voice deep inside says "crap", then it probably is, so trash it, paint over it, get it out of your sight, and then try, try, try, and try again, until you can REALLY live with it as your own worst critic.

?...!
