By chance I happened to recall this morning that I know the artist who won the Gold Medal at the last Biennale, and he has told me the following - I have edited it as his English is not perfect:
"My experiences were quite good and I made a lot of contacts, some of them interesting and helpfull, others to forget..as always.
The costs are indeed high, just for taking part, the catalogue etc it cost me about 2,100,00€.... but it is good value because you will never have the possibility to present yourself to such a wide range of people and artists, you will meet there artists and critics from all over the world.
In the end it will turn on how communicative and openminded you are. For me it was a big success and further projects are in the plan right now on the international front.
If you can find a sponsor it would be good! I had costs of more than 4000,00€ for hotel, food, journey, shipping of my artwork pieces which were very large."
