September 5 though September 17, I will do a showing of my art photographs in the Multicultural Center in the University of Arkansas Student Union. There will be a catered reception on the 14th from 3-5PM. FREE FOOD!
1. I am a severely brain damaged paraplegic.
2. I was once a Mechanical Engineering student at the U of A.
3. I was once a Mathematics student at the U of A.
4. I was once in the U of A Concert Band.
5. I was a ‘walk-on’ to the U of A Razorback Football Team.
6. I once modeled for figure drawing at the U of A Art Department.
7. I was one year a Resident Assistant at the U of A in Gregson Lodge.
8. I was one year a Resident Assistant at the U of A in Reid Hall on the 3rd floor.
9. I was once a Professional Photographer and left a lot of evidence in photographs and other places to illuminate my past.
99% of my memories of the past were erased by a severe brain injury.
Learning about my past is archeological research for me.
It is only right that one of my first big shows be at the Union in the Multicultural Center.
I am disabled now and all my photography is done from a wheelchair.
The doctors said I would die or have the mental abilities of a toddler at best when my respirator was turned off.
I contend that my photographic abilities remain and are only reduced.
You can’t tell which photos are before my auto wreck and which photos are after. My art is still good or it is not and never was.
I have a fine art B&W taken in the grove of trees that Mary Lightheart perched in. Remember? http://www.nwamorningnews.com/pdfarchive/2000/May/16/5-16-00%20A1.pdf

I have a 36x48 inch print of an old cellar in the grove of trees at the show that is bigger and better than can be done with any film camera or a digital alone. It took the best of both worlds.
