I have also been invited to the 2007 biennale.
I have contacted artists that have gone before.
This is what I have found so far.
It is not really a venue for selling but rather promoting your art.
Take promotional material and your own folding chair.
It is easier if you can take your art yourself as there are a lot of artist involved and there can be a bit of confusion with set up at the last minute (like any large event especially where there are many different languages involved).
Try to get sponsorship, and keep trying until you get somebody to pay for something.
Accomodation in Florence is extremely expensive so try to arrange something as soon as possible.
While it is not a great venue for selling, it is well received on the Curriculm Vitae.
