...can be hard on an fine artistic soul.
I went through similar contortions back in 1977 for a sign (a local McCulloch chain saw promo) - my first paying gig as an artist. Commercial art is a whole different ballgame than fine art. THAT was my one and only commercial artwork!
The normal brush and paint approach simiply was going nowhere. I finally threw in the towel and took the sign board to a local gas station and borrowed their airhose in situ and used it as a makeshit airbrush...a good show for the folks picking up some Ralstin Purina feed for their livestock...LOL. In the end the "client" was happy with the result (he got a nice sign for the promo) and so was I...the result being that I was done with commercial art!
Regards,
Charles
