LVH, ... you asked what gave me the most difficulty:... (a) getting the moon round?... or (b) getting the face right?
Well,... both, since I used a phase of the moon on which I had to graft a face that I constructed for some other purpose entirely years ago.
I have all these little pieces of designs lying about on tracing paper, stacked up on top of one another. They've accumulated over the years. Sometimes I just throw some of them together randomly or by pure feel to see if they jive together. Interestingly, the curves that my fingers prefer seem to come up over and over again, so there is a resonance between designs years apart, simply because a certain stroke tendency seems to be embedded in my genes.
It's sort of a cheapo way to go, I guess. But, hey, it sort of works, and it's interesting that it works. What shall we call it?---- random-accumulatory-collage-tweaked-by-newfound-insight-that-just-happens-to-work?
Now Charles,... I like to play in the sand box with the other kids sometimes, meaning I'll go down the pop road occasionally. I actually like it on some level. I could get into fantasy art, if I allowed myself. I could get into pencil sketches of naked babes, if I allowed myself. Even better, I could get into art created by naked babes mudwrestling,.... IF I allowed myself.
What I claim as MY style, however, IF I have to claim one, is the "fluidism", thing, which I am drawn to on a cosmically deep philosophical level (WAKE UP!,... conde!)
?...!
