Yes, I received the same 'invitation'. It would seem based on cursory research that it is not necessarily a scam. But neither is it necessarily a bargin in terms of cost of entry nor would entering really mean very much. Someone noted that the criteria for acceptance is pretty much 'anyone willing to pay the fee'.

I think I'll pass.
