You are schooling yourself in art,painting and sometimes feel like giving up.Wheather one is an artist,engineer or busdriver they will experience your feelings. The important thing is that you ARE expressing yourself. It helps to find new expression when we stop to observe a petal on the flower rather than to view the whole flower. Just as you focus on the iris of the eye, you see things most do not register. Many old masters had to do other jobs to further their passion for art. With your degree in art you will be able to enter the art world doing things related to painting without having to depend on support through the selling of your works. The art world is exciting and unlimited. Quiting is for losers and you don't sound like a quiter.
