BIG city,... small city. Trust me,... it does not matter.
Given how many artists there are today, they all face the same inevitable crossroads:
(1) Do I get an outside studio? - YES, if some hot rich lady supports you.
(2) Do I keep an in-house studio? - YES, if you yourself are rich enough to have a separate space totally delineated, separated, isolated from all other aspects of your life.
(3) Where do I store works? - ANYWHERE you can, until you realize that you are not rich enough to have an outside studio to keep making more and more paintings that go nowhere except where you store them. Then you have to decide whether to stop painting and start spending the majority of your time marketing and selling what you already have,... OR you stop painting,... OR you switch to smaller paintings on different media that you can strore in smaller spaces,... but that only delays the problem again, until you reach the critical crowding point of that set-up too.
Frankly, I feel that this is why digital artists are gaining, ... because they can store endless thousands of works on a little round shinny disc - NO studio required, except for a Mac or PC.
Bluntly yours,
?...!
