I was going to title this reply... "$200 for a handpainted portrait!... ha ha ha ha ha!", but I thought you might like a response to your visual better.
And good point about quality assurance.
I let a painting go last week for $100 ("discounted" or "allowed to be stolen" from my tag price of $325)... (blasting my original self valuation price of $1860 for it, seven years ago).
I was a sucker for a young college student's total love for it,... knowing her limited budget, seeing her authentic captivation with it,... sensing a true, honest-to-gosh resonance between something I did and something somebody else saw - sort of a form of currency, when you think about it.
Anyway, this seemed like a good investment,.... giving this person a chance to buy her first original artpiece at an early age,... making a contact for the future, on the chance that she gets into a good financial position to buy more later.
?...!
