I don't want to sound pompous, but I believe I was in your EXACT situation! I was about to graduate high school with no definite plans; I was an artist who drew portraits and had no inspiration to carry on with my art. My dad had the idea that I try graphic design--an idea that I was opposed to at first--but then I visited some college websites and saw that graphics may be a good option. You can do anything from designing signs, billboards, posters to cd covers, websites, postcards, logos...the possibilities are endless. So I went to college for graphics and loved it! Now I am working for a software program as their graphic designer/marketing assistant. It may not be for you, but if you are computer savvy, a detail-oriented "technically creative" person, you might want to consider it. You can always practice sketching and fine art as a hobby as well. Good luck to you!!
