The Libertine, a new weekly e-zine, launching in January, is currently searching for artists to feature in their first two upcoming issues. The first issue will be a dedication to Bacchus, the god of wine, and the second, a hedonistic exploration into the world of chocolate. Specifically, we are looking for art and photography that is exciting, that will inspire, and even cross over into the erotic. Artists working in any media are encouraged to apply.
There is no limit as to the number of pieces that you may submit, nor is there a submission fee. The only requirement is that the work relate directly to the theme, which in this instance, would either be wine or chocolate. How you illustrate this relation is completely up to you. We do however want work that will compliment our magazine: hedonistic, edgy, playful, controversial, and sexy.
Any artist accepted into either issue's gallery will be allotted a section of the e-zine, complete with a brief biography and their contact information. We will also provide you with a listing in our Underground Bazaar, a shopping directory that we are creating. This is a fabulous opportunity to receive some free publicity. Since we are a free online magazine, The Libertine is easily accessible to the public, and therefore has the potential to provide you with an unlimited amount of exposure. Several artists will also be chosen to receive full profiles in a separate section of each issue's gallery.
If interested, please submit JPEG files of your work (sized to 72 dpi and no larger than 700 pixels on the longest end) to galleries@libertinemag.com. With your submission, please include your name, contact information, location, and a link to an online portfolio (if applicable). To avoid any delays, please label each file with your first initial and last name, and number them in order. (For instance, if your name was Jack Strum, your files should read jstrum01, jstrum02, etc.) In addition, please label your submission by typing either "wine" or "chocolate" in the subject line of your e-mail. If you wish to submit work for consideration in both issues, please send your work in separate e-mails. All submissions must be received no later then December 17th, 2007.
Before submitting, I would encourage you to visit us at: http://libertinemag.com/info.htm to get a feel for the publication and what we are about.
