I'm sitting here wondering about the appearance of "Santa" with or without raindeer in "POP" paintings. Certainly, he's a classical POP image, a "ready made" POP icon, a paramount subject for POP paintings . Though, that I can remember, for example, Warhol never immortalized Santa quite the same way he did Chairman Mao. For the sake of our children and thier love for the crusty old bearded man in his red, fur lined suit, I ask, "might any of you recall some of the POP paintings in which he appears and the POP artists who immortalized his sometimes soused mug." Sincerely, the artist Geo.
