I think you can totally suck and accidentally create something great (probably only once) and I think you can work really hard and and create something great (much much more often). In the eye of the beholder, right? As we all know there are "GREAT WORKS" (in music, fine art, literature) that we think "what? That completely sucks!". There very well may be something to 'natural ability' or talent or whatever but, usually it is only "INTEREST"... you are interesteed in art, you took it further than the other kids who dropped it around 8 yrs old.... (technique and interest). Gifted only means that you learn quicker and easier than your average joe. You aren't BORN knowing any more than any other infant or having any more skill than the other babes in the nursery.
Greatness is achievable by most, some of us just have to work harder than others.
