I've used a bunch of strange special glues for his kind of work and my favorite is Elmer's Glue-All Multi Purpose Glue (Elmer's White Glue)... It is really magic stuff (and super cheap) -- test it before you commit (!) ... be neat and put the glue on both surfaces -- then bond together...
