I've been meaning to mention this, but I'm only now getting around to it, because I was trying to adjust:

The particular shade of GRAY BACKGROUND COLOR now being used as the standard template color on which messages are being read is TOO DARK, given the font size.

Please consider either:

(a) choosing the lightest possible shade of gray

or

(b) going back to white

I think that you tried a shade of blue before this too, which also was not reader friendly.

The reason that the darker gray background does not work for me is because black type causes just enough blend conflict to annoy an eye trying to read crisp, clear delineations. It's like your eye has to struggle just a bit to dig the black type out of the gray background.

Anybody else having this expereience?
