I'm working very hard to update the messaging (and critiquing) system on d'ART. While doing so, I've been going through feedback I've saved from members. It seems the bulk of complaints involve the actions of others or how their actions manipulated the system.
Part of my plan is to redesign some of the functionality. However, it seems apparent that all my work is undermined if I don't enforce our Term of Service regarding personal attacks. Those that know me, know I've been very lax about this. I don't care for censorship. I've really only deleted a few of the most vile posts over the years. Most are deleted because they are spam.
Back to the feedback-- It seems most artists participate in the Cafe/CC to communicate and learn from other open-minded artists. However, some come to fight, belittle, and prove their intellectual superiority. Imperially, it's obvious that the latter runs off the former.
Here is the plan to deal with censorship:
1) Create a forum where anything goes. Please feel free to suggest names for this forum.
2) Zero tolerance for attacking someone's character (or God given talents) in all other forums.
Thoughts?
