I doubt that too many people like people who say that they are above it all or that they are righteous or that they are for the good of all, in the same breath that they condemn those who have verbal styles different from their own.

Whenever somebody starts whining about this sort of thing, I think it's as grevious as what is being whined about.

Get my drift?

I've been in numerous forums for years, where people just don't get it --- they don't get how strong within themselves they have to be to accept verbal play for what it is and use it constructively (even the stuff that grinds your own gears).

When the moderational decree starts to come down too hard, forums die. I'm telling you this from experience. Seriously,... openness combined with self strength to use all comments in one's favor is the best policy.
If you are really strong and really talented, then you do not have to announce it or preach it.

Too much whining about those who offend you will handicap this place, just as certain as what you think you are whining about.

Just be YOU, without trying to change others,... and the strong, confident, truly gifted (both visual and verbal) WILL thrive.

Stop speaking generally about pretentiousness as though we all should know who you are talking about. THAT's YOUR opinion. Don't try to jam it down other people's throats, as though you are the final judge in these matters.

With all due respect,
