I started experimenting with polyfilla about 5 years ago and still have the samples which are in perfect order and look as if the would last for at least several millenniums. One has to use a rasp or a chisel to get the compound of the board.
The Polyfilla is a polymer that seems to bind extremely well with acrylics; however I found using sawdust within the mix prevents the past to be too rich, kind of stiff, less texture. I don’t use any water in the mix.
I have used it as base or as colour mix.
