Hi folks,
Though that it might be a good place to share links of interest that deal directly with the business of art - whether its references or software or business card printers or websites with gallery listing - whatever you think may be relevant.

I started this thread to share a link to BLURB book making software:
I have been considering creating a small book for my shows that displays all of my previous work. I used to use a portfolio style book - it was proffessional enough, but its nothing more than a book full of clear inserts that I can place prints of work page by page.
I discovered this link:
http://www.blurb.com
Blurb provides software that you can download for free to make a layout of your own book and then have it uploaded back to them and they will produce the book for a minimal cost. I say minimal because I only want one or two books made with my work - just as a sample book - and are not intended for sale. The books range from $12 to upwards of $40.So, I can have a book made with up to 40 pages for around 20 bucks + shipping. For One or two books this isn't too bad. If you were to want to get 500 printed of course - it would be much cheaper to source a book printer who can give you lower rates on multiples. Blurb does offer % off the more you order - just as a side note.
The software is easy to use and is based on templates that you can mix and match. The book I am producing is Photos with titles only.. no lengthy notes like this one. HAHA!
Thought some of you might find that of interest. Perhaps someone has had experience with blurb - anyone? Good experience? Bad? I had a friend mention that she made a photo album for a friend a s a gift and she was really happy with the result. She said it looked like a book that she would have found at the bookstore.
Perhaps some of you might have another link you might like to share that is related to the art business?
