November 21, 2008 (Brooklyn, NY) - Rare Posters has recently acquired large billboard sized posters. The new oversized (68 x 48 inch) offset lithographs feature works by Botero and Chagall. These and many more oversized posters are now available for purchase online at www.rareposters.com
The Botero posters were printed in celebration of museum and gallery exhibitions across Europe since the mid 1990’s. The Chagall prints were designed for use at bus stops in Paris to advertise an exhibition at Musee Maillol that ran from November 3, 2003 through March 15, 2004. Gallerie Maeght in France published the posters.
Rare Posters also has a select inventory of Billboard sized ‘YEAR 2000-The New Millennium’ Wall calendar editions, featuring large black and white images of prominent cities and land marks such as The London Bridge, The Chrysler Building in New York, and The Eiffel Tower. Published by the Neues Publishing in Germany on heavy stock paper, with excellent image resolution for such a large print.
Posters this large are rare and valuable. Because they were designed with a specific purpose in mind they were not printed in large editions. Prints this large require special oversized printing machinery, which are also rare. These beautiful crisp offset set lithographs are best suited for large areas, ideal for a hotel lobby, restaurant, or an airy foyer with high ceilings.
