Hello to all, this is my first post here!
I am a artist that has emerged from a long period of reclusion and now that I am making a online presence I find myself questioning the necessity of background history and artist's statements.
Exploring the reasons why I am turned off by this, I found I have a strong opinion that none of this info matters or is relevant to my art. I'm not ashamed of my history, it's just that my art should speak for itself and not need any assiociation to me or my path to this point.
If any of you are wondering I have had some schooling but I have learned much from outside the classroom.
Quite often my opinions are contrary to the majority so I ask you to please share what you think of this quandary I'm in.
