An art aquaintence of mine said that her previous success in selling paintings has flatlined. She said that she now has stopped painting, because (in her words) "... it's too hard".
Is this the fate of many painters in 2009, or is this just the fate of those painters who have been painting for a while and know the scene?
New eager minds seem always in great supply, but does a culture really exist where they have a place of respect in maturity?
Lots of things seem to be failing (i.e., flatlining) in 2009. Can original art be saved, and can original art save us from sensory and creative demise?
