CALADAN GALLERY presents a Call to Artists…
Impact!
We are exposed daily to symbolism and icon; mass marketing and television; offers and demands. Some of these are visual in essence, utilizing dramatic color, composition, subliminal placement and text; voice-overs and FAST…FAST…FAST imagery – wealth, sex, beauty; all that is desirable in this world is made a suggestion to mass consciousness. In spite of this mass media marketing we are left wandering in a sea of confusion, the rite of IMPACT being unable to blot out the alone-ness and the isolation we have succeeded in building around us as individuals. We are searching for art that addresses this, as well as that which is endowed with its own IMPACT!
Participating artists will be selected by the Caladan Gallery staff, with one or more artists being awarded a solo exhibition. Artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital media, textiles, mixed media, and installation are eligible. Video work cannot be accommodated at this time.
