Iowa rocks! I previously lived in two towns in Iowa... the people ARE nice, my friends who visited me in one town nicknamed it "pleasantville"...
My paintings don't cost much...I paint what I would like to buy and I pretty much sell them at a price that I would be able to ,and be willing to, spend. So, I don't have the same experience but, I thought that the places I lived in (contrary to the stereotype) were VERY supportive of art, very open minded and totally involved. (the smaller town even more so....)
