You'd think, in this era of computers, that every computer system would be equally good,... equally fast,... equally efficient,... and I truly hate that there is so much variation in the speeds of different systems, providers, etc., etc., etc. It all seems so stupid, when we (as a technological species) have the full capability RIGHT NOW to create all systems equal, fast, efficient, affordable to everybody. I just don't get the whole technology lag thing that keeps some institutions/individuals in the dark ages, and others in the zone.
I am connecting from a newly-built public library (at the moment), and you'd think these folks would have a top notch, top speed connection,.. but things here seem slow, so Critic's Corner seems reeeeeeeeeal slow.
Your suggestion to limit the number of pics at the top seems like a good one to me to allow greatest access of all dark-age viewers with lagging systems and speeds. I'd still be curious how fast this site loads for YOU with YOUR system, and how fast this site (Critic's Corner) loads for other people who use it.
Thanks for your tweaking.
