A few years ago one of my older cousins passed away soon followed by his mother, my great-aunt. I inherited a bunch of stuff from her, and her daughter also let me come in and get anything that I might want that she didn't want to keep before she got rid of it. Amongst the stuff she didn't want was the painting I will be attaching to this message. She didn't have any idea where the painting came from, nor could she remember whether it was her parents or her brother who had aquired it or when exactly (the only thing she could possibly come up with was that her brother may had gotten it some 45+ years ago on a trip he took to Mexico becuz she recalls it being in the house for a long time).
I was just wondering if anyone at all has seen a painting similar to this, or would know anything about it. Wherever it came from, it's an original painting (you can run your hands over it and feel the paint) done on black felt. The felt is nailed to the frame, so it is impossible to just take the paiting off of the frame to see if the artist signed his/her name or even dated the paiting. If anyone has any information at all on this painting and could let me know, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
