This is a tough one, so any assistance would be appreciated.
About 5-10 years ago, I saw an art exhibit of about 20 paintings at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. The artist was male, but I don't remember his name. All of the paintings in the series were similar:
--style would be modern or contemporary, and I assume the artist is 20th century American --canvases were all very large, maybe 5 feet tall by 3 feet wide or bigger --paintings were acrylics, probably on canvas --colors were very vivid brights on black backgrounds --paintings were very precise, detailed close ups of leaves, some with insects or calla lilies (I think)
Any suggestions? Thanks for your input!!
