A good day for me is painting more than contemplating suicide .Sorry but true there are two choses hustling yourself and your work or doing your work with no regard for what fame or fortune it may bring.Example 3 A after self admitting myself to what could be called our mental health safety net = a loony bin in L.A. for the 3 day cruise as we call it ( not remotely funny ) I noticed a Vincent Van-G print in the hall that my compatriots waddled up and down in their happy pill stupor, some drooling -these where the throw aways - the people nobody wants and i felt in good company . The print on the wall in the hall ---which Van-G painting ??? heres the hook of the tune mateys it was a painting of the loony bin he was in before he finally offed himself. The irony is what should keep us alive -nobody asked us to do what we do its like being in love ---its irrational ----foolish ----- senseless--- and at this time on this particular planet you ain't gonna make a stinkin penny doing it unless you are connected, protected and a complete sociopathetic creep a zoid like some pop idle you forgot what they were famous for .....I have been painting to spite this cruel world- there are times when all there is is paper and pencils but don't let that stop you ......Negative ????? yes and no ...realistic about the fact that our livelyhood doesn't exist in a world with little if any expendable income is being made by people who are able to see our work somehow&throw a few bucks our way so we can perfect and expand our art trade . Art will only die if we hustle it into the cultural void of celebrity mags and cheesy t.v./cell phone blabber jabber.... we have to be critical thinkers and observers or join cult like the Funists which as you remember grew out that 60s cult The Diffys or Diffy Cult ----never mind happy St. Patty's Day Thats pretty positive

Are we having Funism yet ?
