This print was found by my parents when they moved into their house 25 years ago. We have been unable to identify anything about the work or the original painter. While vacationing in someone's house about 10 years ago, we saw the same image on an antique jewelery box, so we are hopeful that it is famous enough that it will be familiar to somebody. This particular print is mounted face-down on a pane of glass, which can then be hung by a chain that supports the corners, as seen in the first photograph. Perhaps it is a French girl? It reminds me of a French Canadian scene, but I am certainly no expert at all.
Any help in solving this quarter-century mystery would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
