Dunun(Two Eyes)'s father lost his forefinger by accident while processing iron in his youth and lost his ring finger again about 10 years ago. And he had overcame those difficulties and continued his way over 40 years. As a result, he became a master of metal craft of Korea in 2006.
I was inspired by my father's hand allowing me look into his life in which he overcame his handicap. So, I tried to actually make a mold of his handicapped hand and to form the shape of a perfect hand by reproducing his lost fingers with nails which are the marks of life. I considered that a work being completed in such a process might contain a positive force to life. However, my father declined my suggestion stubbornly. He kept ignoring several requests. I thought he could show his hand despite of disability like a man, but he had a different thought from me
