RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Teach various levels and courses in graphic design, digital photography and webpage design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Quarkxpress, Adobe GoLive, Freehand)
2. Assist in maintaining computer lab; intranet-connected lab of 27 Mac G3 and Pentium PCs, multiple input/output devices.
3. Special consideration given to applicants proficient in drawing or in teaching art history
THE COLLEGE Barton College, established in 1902, is a co-educational, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with an enrollment of 1400 students. Wilson is one hour east of Raleigh, NC. The Art Department has four full-time faculty positions and sixty art majors. Barton offers a B.F.A. with an emphasis in Graphic Design, Photography, Ceramics, and Painting. A B.S. in Art Education and a B.A. in Art is offered. The Art Department is housed in the Case Art Building, a 23,000 square foot multi-use art facility including two exhibition spaces comprising the Barton Art Museum.
