DREAMSPAN ANIMATION OVERVIEW
Dreamspan was formed in 1999 as an outgrowth of the Short Attention Span Film and Video Festival, AmericaŐs oldest and foremost festival showcasing short, short (less-than-two minute) works. Dreamspan.com aims to be worldŐs foremost provider of internet-based entertainment and advertising content.
Recent high-profile investment by companies such as Sony, Microsoft, Vulcan Ventures and others indicates growing sentiment that internet content is the next area in which technology and consumer demand will converge. And media hits such as South Park and Blair Witch Project, which owe their success to the internet, demonstrate in convincing fashion that the internet is the new launching pad for worldwide entertainment.
Dreamspan has its roots in independent grassroots entertainment and we want to be at the forefront of a new entertainment system in which it is not the executives that decide what films and animations are able to gain wide exposure, but rather the viewers. Anyone in the world with an internet connection will be able to see the works that we place on our site. As the works gain popularity among viewers, they will take on a life of their own, generating an internet community of followers that will propel the most successful work to other media such as television and movies.
