I have an old print and I do not know the name of the print or the artist. This print has been in our family for years and has been stored in a closet for the past 50 years. It is a black and white picture. The predominant characters in the picture are two horses and a colt. One horse is black and the other is white. The colt is black. They appear to be running toward the right of the print into some trees. The colt is in front of the white horse. The white horse is looking back and the black horse is looking at the colt. There is a full moon above the white horse shining through clouds or maybe fog. To the left of the picture and in the background are animals that appear to be wolves. On the lower left of the picture is the initials F.W.H. On the outer lower edge of the picture below the frame is a copyright date of 1901 and the name appears to be O S Silberman. Above the copyright there is a number 102. A number of years ago (possibly 15 to 20) there was an article in all the papers about this picture along with a photograph that a print had been found. I read the article at the time and then forgot it because I did not know that the print was still in our family. It seems that the artists first name might have been Fredrick or Franz but I am not really sure of that. Could anyone help me in identifying this print and its artist.
