In July 1991, I was painting at Fire Island, New York.Right on the beach. A woman was pushing a wheale chair, with a big old man sitting in it. The man started making strange noises ,when he saw my guashes.The woman asked wheather she can buy them. I was excited that someone was paying attention to.....a creazy guy painting on the beach.
She picked 3 guashes, and gave me a check.The head on the check said Willem de Koong, Elain de Kooning.
They left right away, as running to the bathroom.
I met her again.
She, the dauter, came to my reception at Sag Harbour gallery,Mallets.,in September 1999.
Poor woman, drinks her head off, every day.
My paintings are sold at 5 New York City galleries.One in Southampton, and one in Palm Beach.
I am NOT Picasso........thanks God.
But I do OK.
I paint what I want, and about 20% of my PRODUCTION gets sold same year.
