I am a student at the School of Visual Arts in the MFA Fine Arts division. I paint cartoons on clear plastic and canvas combined with abstract elements. I also do drawings that focus on the immediacy of gestural line. I am a talented writer too. I work at TIME magazine right now in the Photo Department but it is temporary. I have until the end of February to find someplace else to work. If anyone knows of any art related jobs that would be compatible with my student schedule (need Tuesdays and Thursdays off) Please let me know. I am experienced in Photoshop, some Quark Xpress Microsoft Word, Simple Text and am excellent at navigating the web. I can do scanning work and photo manipulation, screen grabs and layouts. I'm just not quite professional at it. I am a great receptionist and am excellent at general office duties and administrative assistance. I would love to work at a place that would be sympathetic to my student schedule until I graduate in May and then allow me to come on full time. I need to make at least 12-15$ an hour but could start at 10$. I am not interested in freelance jobs that don't take taxes out of the paycheck. I am a very talented artist who is experienced with most aspects of gallery operation. I have worked at a New York art gallery. I would love to work at another one. I am located in Brooklyn, NY. Call or E-mail for resumes, portfolios and interviews. Thanks.
