I am a 40-year old female artist who moved to NYC 15 years ago to pursue my career as an artist. I have been working at office jobs ever since and I can no longer go on that way. It is time for me to take the leap and live and work as I was meant to do. The quality of my work has never been the issue...it is more a matter of hiding out in the safety net of a steady job. A friend recently transformed his antique shop into a gallery to exhibit my work (based on sales and response to my work displayed in his window). The show sold 11 out of 26 pieces in 10 days. It is really good stuff, I know, but I am not cut out for the marketing end of it. I really need a promoter. I work mostly in mixed media, found object and collage (small scale).
