I don't have a problem about being off topic for awhile about timely, interesting thoughts and discussions (as they can always be traced back to art, right?) I DO have a problem when the conversation lasts for days, overpowers all art-related conversation and/or is aimed at alienating other members of the board. The abortion thread didn't stem from an art discussion or lead to an art discussion -- by the time I posted, everyone had had their say several times; it wasn't progressing, it was degenerating into name calling and worse. As the very odd Mrs. Clinton has been known to say, "Reasonable people disagree on this issue." Once the points have been made, what's the point of continuing to hurt others by continuing the discussion? In my opinion, none.
