Is art for the common people?

I come from one of the poorest areas in Europe, were the fast mayoralty of people live on or below the poverty line. Although of cores no one is starving. But there is greyness about the area most people walk around with their heads down in a sort of quiet desperation. The work that is avable is of poor quality and few people feel they have any control over their lives.
The question I would ask is were is the art to represent how the fast majority of people live, not in the art Galleys I have been to .the curators of most of our local galleries seem stoke in a hole of conservative mediocrity showing only beauty crafted wallpaper. Just ones I would like to see a contrvertel exhibition were Mr angry rights to the local newspaper about the waste of taxpayer money. The no hope attitude seems to be tort at our art collages one former stunten told “me she was told not try and be an artist but should go into designing cards” why should she not try to be an artist?
The result of this lack o vision is poorly atened galleries and the vast majority of people believing art has nothing to say about how there live their lives. I have always beleaved the best art comes straight from the soul and should be full of passion. Art is not just for the educated classes but can be a liberating experience for everyone.
