I recently found a sale offer by Richard Yates (1997) for a complete set of 100 prints in 3 volumes, whilst I was trying to do some research on some Dali prints being offered by a local Gallery.
I wondered if anyone might offer some insight/guidance in the background I'm trying to generate.
I recently came across an art gallery offering a number of prints from the 'Divine Comedy Suite', but was not sure of their provenance or the price, so am completing some research before I decide to purchase.
It looks like they also have a 100 set from the Suite - a much later =
issue than his 33/1000, but I'm trying to find out a little more.
I am aware of the work that Albert Field has done and will certainly be asking the gallery for a certificate of authenticity, but am struggling to fill in some of the blanks. Galleries sometimes seem deliberately obtuse.
Any light that could be shed on the below would be appreciated.
Does anyone know who published the original 1000 off each print set?
Does anyone know when this was?
Is there a way to cross check the authenticity?
Do anyone have a feeling for the current value of an individual print
(framed/unframed)?
Does anyone know where I might go to get further background?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
