The art of Salvador Dalí; matchless craftsmanship, the highest manufacturing standards, and the incomparable quality of the materials and skins used by LOEWE in the loving production of works of art in leather for our customers; designs by Oscar Tusquets, a friend and pupil of Dalí’s; the exquisite presentation and packaging of Dalí’s works of art in leather; and a profusely illustrated book explaining the pictures by the great master that have inspired each of the collections. With these ingredients we have continued the path forged by the artist, who created his collections of leather goods as personalised gifts to close friends, collectors of his paintings and international personalities such as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Huntington Hertford, Darryl Zanuck and many others. Gala and Salvador Dalí kept a complete collection for their own personal use. We, as licensees appointed by Salvador Dalí in the contract signed on 22 November 1972 in the St. Regis-Sheraton Hotel in New York, witnessed by Gala Diakanoff, are authorized in perpetuity to produce or arrange the production by others of “Salvador Dalí” leather goods based on the drawings and designs “that I have personally created and designed for this purpose”, so that under the dome of the Dalí Theatre Museum in Figueres, the very centre of his stage, Dalí continues to live on in a glorious resurrection of his art in warm, sensual leather.
