I don't know whether you can help me, but I have something that I am curious about. I have a small painting which I picked up at a Salvation Army. It is really a painting, not a print or print with fake brush strokes or anything like that. It is quite small, almost six inches by almost five inches. It is signed "Maurice Utrillo", although I cannot see the entire signature because of the strange framing job. The back has sort of a 'sticker' or a piece of tape applied which reads "Montmartre in Winter, Utrillo." The frame, which seems to be some sort of composition material painted gold, has a sticker which says "TURNER MFG. CO. CHICAGO". What do I have here, anyway? Did companies turn out tiny, fake paintings with strange frames? Forgive my ignorance. I would appreciate any information that you could give me. Thanks.
