Jan, I am only a lowly, high school student inspiring to be an artist, but I believe I have had such an experience. Throughout my begining years of drawing, my figures had evil smiles with sadistic eyes. My sophmore year I gave up being a hunter and took up nature photography instead. I took one picture of a young doe staring me down. When the picture came out, it showed a serine, yet sad face. It became one of my favorite pictures and about a year later I used it in reference in drawing a moon. This possessed moon had a sad and painful look, instead of my usual hatred features
