Queen Of The Flowers

A tiny seed that would not grow
while other flowers, colors showed
It longed to bloom as lillies white
but blocked by a wall it had no light

A tiny seed with hopes and dreams
of petals of lavander, leaves of green
but sheltered from the nurturing rain
unable to grow, it cried in pain

As tears flowed across it's hardened shell
a miracle happened, it began to swell
It cracked along the sides until
a tiny bud of green from within spilled

And reached it's arms up to the sky
breaking darkness of shade, no more would it cry
it streched it's stem above the wall
and started growing oh so tall

It's leaves unfurled like blankets green
on top a crown of yellow splendor seen
Touched by rays of the sun's pure light
it grew all day then slept that night

The Queen of flowers she became
and the sun who loved her lent it's name
Then when morning blessed it with its dew,
that sun flower bloomed just for you!
