...to be un-American and unpatriotic when he spoke out against the war in the Philippines. He stated that he was loyal to his country, not to its government, its policy makers, or to its institutions.

It takes courage to question, to look at situations from other points of view, and to speak out.

Both Keiths made good points here. The terrorists don’t consider their acts to be wrong, any more than others fail to see the wrongs of our retaliation. That sort of “justification” does not bring about resolution.
