I'm not saying everyone in the pharm industry is bad; it's those suits with the calculators I don't trust. The ones who try to defend charging $8 for a pill on grounds of R&D costs. I know there are R&D costs, but they use R&D as an ongoing "blanket" justification to gouge people. R&D is probably tax deductible, anyway.
Also, they sell too many overpriced "hope" pills, too. Zyprexa. Aricept. Both generally worthless, according to what doctors have told me. But we buy 'em and hope they'll help a little. Those two meds cost about $300 a month, if you're desperate enough to buy them and can afford them.
Anyway, I know what you're saying. Not disputing the fact that cancer and AIDS and Alzheimer's are tough nuts to crack. I'm just a naturally-suspicious person. It's in my genes, I think.

My mother passed away this morning (Sunday) at 8:30, sad to say. I kissed her cold forehead at the funeral home a few hours later. I hated to see her go, but I hated to see her the way she was in the nursing home, too. It was a no-win thing for all of us here.
Regards,
Ronski
