I just ran across your message. Meiersdorff was a street artist who sold his watercolors in Greenwich Village in New York City in the 1950's and 1960's. In 1967, I bought a watercolor which my former wife kept, but I liked the ease and flow of his work so much, I found another in a small gallery then on 8th Street in the Village. The owner told me that Meiersdorf used to be around all the time, but he had not seen him in a few years. I do not recall what I paid, but since I was just back from the Army and had very little money, it had to be $30 or $40. Every once in a while I see a watercolor of his someplace, including, I believe As menu art in a New Orleans-Cajun restaurant, although I cannot remember where. I hope this helps. CARY
