Our art world now has a New American Folk Art, Ball Point Pen Art. This is Jerry & Linda Stith founders of Ball Point Pen Art here on the Internet. Jerry is self taught therefore an American Folk artist. Being an American Folk artist introducing a New Art Medium which is in turn a World Class Art Movement.
I’m personally a portrait artist that can draw other topics. I started using the BallPoint Pen in about 1968 after drawing with pencils before that. The ink was faster, sharper, cleaner, darker, prettier and camera ready. The ballpoint pen was totally portable and would work about any place you like. There after the pencil lost out and ever since then I have drawn with the ballpoint pen. A perfect tool for doing things in the field.
The ballpoint pen was invented and manufactured in 1938 by the Biro brothers. Billions of pens have sold worldwide from then till today. Hundreds of millions of folks draw and or doodle with them everyday of the year. Making it the most used writing or art instrument in history. Today billions of pens are made annally.
This ballpoint pen changed our business world by being the best tool for making carbon copies work. Pressing firmly down on the page made the carbine copy darker and very readable. That very dark line is a full-tone in art. The half tone is made drawing very gently. Which is now the most detailed line in art history camera ready for production art.
Today, there are multi-colored oil-based inks here on the market place. Yellow has reappeared after seven or eight years missing or off the store selves. I do again have yellow, gold, brown, pink, orange, yellow orange, yellow green and light blue for my warm colors. These colors will over all brighten any picture. Many artists don’t realize ballpoint pens come in colors. Yet Ball Point Pen Art has colored pictures in about 21 different colors.
The ballpoint pen never really got going strong because people liked working in colors. People would say the tool is to common for being good art. Most thought you wouldn’t be worth something till you are dead. All objections to the greatest detailed line maker in art history. People never realized what they had right in their own hand.
Ball Point Pen Art is bringing the half tone and colored oil-base inks to the art history. Our 10 Point Program simply points out were ballpoint pens fit into society. While in the same time dealing with the conformity in the art world. These advances led ballpoint pen in new directions as well as the art world.
Directing others of what the ballpoint pen can do in art is our duty as founders. Our communities have about 80 different samples of my art works. The children and beginners are our further.
