hello, i am dre and welcome to my forum! since no one has visited the forum in a while, i guess it's time to reveal more about myself and why i do the work i do.

first off, i guess i should reveal a little about myself. i am 30 years old, and come from a very talented family of artists. my mother is an orthodox iconographer in california and her sister is a well-known expressionist in d.c. i never thought i could paint like my mother and aunt. then i realized i didn't need to paint like them, but like me.

my talents were singing and dancing. i was part of a polynesian dance troupe and an active member of my greek orthodox choir for many years. upon the unfortunate death of my stepfather 5 years ago, i was diagnosed bi-polar. since then, i have started painting and using any other outlet i could. i started developing my work over the last few years, paying more attention to painting than singing. after many successful exhibitions, i have decided to start an art collective.

i have been painting seriously for the last 3 years, art being my personal form of medication and therapy. my full form of expression. my "day job" is three nights a week at elliot's martini bar in fort collins, colorado. what else can i reveal? oh, i live with my husband paul, and we have a roommate, richard, a black cat named automatic, and about 18 beautiful chinese goldfish housed in 5 different tanks throughout our home.

i like to work with all sorts of media. my favorite is oil enamels and latex enamels. most of the images i paint come from scrying into the canvas. i cannot sketch or draw worth a lick, but give me a brush or a palette knife and i feel like i'm at home. texture is very important to me, and i try to incorporate actual and visual texture as much as possible.

i haven't had formal training although i've never had the attention span for lecture. i love being able to jump into whatever i work on, and manipulate it in my own way.

i hope to one day be recognized, appreciated... even awfully criticized.. any attention to my work is positive!

if anyone is interested in seeing what i have up for auction, or if you have any other questions, please email me at either : seasonalitch@hotmail.com, or seasonalitch@attbi.com
thank you for visiting my forum, i hope you enjoy what you see,
dre wms.
