Could anyone give me information on the painting by Vinciata (an alias for Joseph Wallace King) called Girl from Valdarno.
I was given this painting, which looks like an original. I would like to know how to tell if it was an original (it is definitely not a print as brush strokes are clearly evident).
I would also like to know an approximate value of the original.
The info I have been able to find on this painter so far includes:
Joseph Wallace King painted under the name of Vinciata. He was a legislator from Winston-Salem in North Carolina. He has a number of paintings which seem to be well known from my search on the web. He has also painted portraits of Queen Elizabeth, Richard Nixon and members of the Saudi Royal Family. He was born in 1911 and died at age 84 in 1996.
I found one of his painting - an old man and child on the net valued at $66000.00
I would really, really appreciate any information asap.
